International Poster Design Competition “Goran V. Janković”
Theme: #NotAStereotype
Srbija, Bosna i Hercegovina, Indonezija: Imamo tri najbolja postera na temu #NotAStereotype
Dragana Ilić, from Serbia, is the author of the work “Cut the Label”, which was declared the best at the International Poster Design Competition “Goran V. Janković”, organized by Aquarius group.
The second best work was submitted by Tijana Popović, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, entitled “Expiration Date”, while the third place went to Ardi Chandra, from Indonesia, for the work entitled “Slay Stereotypes”.
More than 150 works from all over the world were submitted for this year’s competition theme #NotASterotype. It was taken from the name of the campaign that the Aquarius group agency implemented in June 2024 and which focused on the stereotypes that all women are exposed to, because of which they are still often on the pillar of shame in various aspects of life.
With the aforementioned competition, the story was expanded to include all types of stereotypes, so young creatives were able to submit solutions that speak to gender, age, religious, national… and all other social anomalies, and in this way, with their creativity, not only point them out, but also engage the entire public to do the same.

“Our competition is named after one of the founders of the Aquarius agency and a pioneer of advertising in the Balkans, Goran V. Janković, who, unfortunately, left us too soon. A painter, designer, doctor of economics, professor and founder of the Department of Graphic Design at the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, Goran was a cheerful and talented man who fought for creativity without borders throughout his professional and academic career, and against divisions, prejudices and stereotypes. Therefore, we wanted the younger generations of artists to continue his mission in a way with this competition,” recalled Brankica Janković, director of Aquarius.
The topic #NotAStereotype was clearly inspiring for young artists, as evidenced by the fact that authors from numerous countries responded to the invitation to submit their creative solutions, starting from our region, through Indonesia, to China.
The expert jury, consisting of Prof. Dr. Mladen Miljanović (Academy of Arts – UNIBL, Intermedia Arts Department), Dejan Šijuk (Creative Director – Fuse) and Aleksandar Živanić (Creative Director – Aquarius), selected not only the three best works from the submitted works, but a total of 31 works that were presented at the exhibition in Kamena kuća, Banja Luka, on December 2. At the same time, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the authors of the three best works were officially announced, for which cash prizes in the amounts of 2,000, 1,000 and 500 marks were provided.
“I am glad that we managed to turn this project, which is important to us in many ways, and which last year had a regional character, into an international competition to which authors from all over the world applied. It was a really hard job to select and award the best, but it was also a great pleasure for us,” said Živanić.
