Aquarius in the City of Gods
Holidays, celebrations, significant dates… At Aquarius agency, these days are far from cliché. Instead of a large, corporate celebration, we started the new year by conquering the city of gods – Athens.
A group of about 50 employees spent four wonderful days in the capital of the ancient world.
First morning we found ourselves at the Acropolis, the mythical hill that harbors the secret of a thousand years of history. Climbing to the top was like traveling through time, admiring the beauty of the Parthenon and other ancient wonders. At every step, there was a piece of eternity that we tried, if only briefly, to claim for ourselves.
Plaka was our next destination – a magical labyrinth of narrow streets and hidden taverns, where we embarked on a culinary adventure of Greek cuisine. The irresistible flavors of the Mediterranean, the sounds of Greek music underneath a clear January sky, where distant reflections of stars and city lights merged. Large Greek oranges on the street and in the trees. Those are the images of our Greek nights.
Evenings always brought magic. Walking through Monastiraki square and alongside the coast of Piraeus gave us a chance to discover the soul of modern Athens. The noise, music, and crowded streets of warm-hearted hosts embraced us openly.
The next day we trailed the paths of Greek myths – arriving at the famous Mycenae. The fairy-tale voice of our guide, Momo, took some of us back to the time of heroes and famous Greek rulers, and the others, who had indulged a bit too much in ouzo and mastika the night before, were lulled to sleep. Nevertheless, our employees conquered the oldest city of the European continent, rising high above the fertile plains of the Peloponnese.
After Athens and Mycenae, our group reached the first capital of modern Greece – Nafplio. This Mediterranean town on the coast of the Aegean Sea warmly welcomed us and immediately charmed us with its mix of colors, architectural styles, and flavors.
Discovering the ancient and modern faces of Greece helped us discover something about each of us. By getting to know the others, we got to know the colleagues with whom we sit in offices every day, drink coffee, and work on tasks. Aquarius always creates memorable experiences. That’s not only how we approach our clients, but also our team. Because, after all, people are our most valuable resource and our most powerful weapon.
