Demofest

In 2023 one thing was certain – Demofest will make a return after a five-year hiatus, facing the challenge of repositioning itself on the map of significant regional music and cultural events.

How to revive the spirit of Demofest and increase the presence and interest of the audience in the festival? How to attract demo bands to apply and compete?

Demofest has always been recognized for its creative solutions, and this year we wanted to pay homage and remind the audience of some of the greats of modern music and some of the most significant musical works. At the same time, we reminded the audience of Demofest and evoked the memories and emotions it carried over the previous 11 years.

We used visual elements of great music bands to awaken nostalgia and attract the audience’s attention. Through our design interpretations, visuals found a place for some of the greatest bands and performers in the history of rock, pop, heavy, and hip-hop music, such as: The Beatles, Kraftwerk, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Public Enemy, The Doors, Queen, and many others.

In the 5 months of the campaign, we managed to re-awaken the public and cultural institutions’ interest in Demofest and successfully motivated 358 demo bands to apply for the competitive part of the festival and host over 40 world and regional performers on 4 stages.

An additional promotion of the festival was a design competition for a Demofest-themed poster that we promoted exclusively through social networks and received 237 works from designers and illustrators from the entire region.
