M:tel car simulator for increased traffic safety
Our client m:tel as part of their socially responsible activities engages in raising awareness of traffic safety every year. This year our task was to try to take it to another level, with aim to bring more attention to safety while driving.
This year’s campaign is called “One call can change it all – don’t use the phone while driving”. We have created a unique installation – car simulator in order to power up experiential learning. The installations simulates the ultimate driving experience for its users. Curious passersby had the opportunity to take their test drive in the cab, and an unexpected phone call was a surprise factor. Answering a call or picking up the phone was the expected reaction after which the car simulator shakes and users experienced a simulated accident.
Between June and August 2019, the installation traveled through five Republika Srpska cities – Banja Luka, Doboj, Bijeljina, Prijedor and Trebinje. Thousands of citizens took the test ride and experienced in a completely realistic way what could happen if a cellphone was used while driving.
In addition to the unique installation, the campaign was accompanied by a TV commercial, print and web advertising. To convey the experiences of the car simulator users as convincingly as possible after the simulated accident, we created educational videos in each of the cities and broadcast them through m:tel’s social networks.
Given that modern technologies are the focus of the company, with the implementation of such campaigns m:tel wants to participate in raising awareness of the importance of responsible behavior in traffic, especially when it comes to using a mobile phone while driving.
The campaign was again implemented this year with the support of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Republika Srpska, the Agency for Transport Safety of the Republic of Srpska and the Auto-Moto Association of Republika Srpska.
